TEN FALL SOCIAL MEDIA POST IDEAS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

These ten fall social media post ideas are sure to give you some inspiration when it comes to creating content for your business.

Engaging your current following and make new connections now sets you up to have an amazing holiday selling season.

One of the best ways to do this without being “salesy” is to create seasonal posts for your social media.

Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing and if they happen to be in a field that you are not currently in, then you can always use them as a way to work in a lifestyle post for your following.

TEN SOCIAL MEDIA POST IDEAS FOR FALL

#1 FALL IMAGES

Images are so important when building your social media content and fall has tons of beautiful things to inspire you. Think about doing a photoshoot with fall colors (red, yellow, orange and brown) as your inspiration or use fall scenery. Another great idea is always to keep some of your products with you because you never know when you may be in the perfect place for a fall product shoot. Start taking fall photos now and stockpile images to help get you through posting over the next few months.

#2 FALL INSPIRED RECIPES

If you happen to be in cooking or sell cookware this is a goldmine for you. Think about easy seasonal treats, recipes for things like apple cider donuts, holiday cupcakes, family favorites or basically anything with pumpkin in it. You can also get your followers involved by having them post their favorite recipes and maybe feature a “best of” on your page or in your stories.

#3 FALL STYLE & FASHION

When the seasons change so do our wardrobes. Why not share with your following the top trends for this year and don’t forget classic staples like cozy sweaters, great jeans, and killer boots. If fashion happens to be your focus create a fall look book with a carousel photo post of fall looks for your followers to get inspiration from. To get your followers involved, challenge them to show off their best fall looks and have them tag your page or Instagram when they post the images.

#4 REASONS TO LOVE FALL POST

Try posting one reason a day for a week or pick a day of the week for the next 2 months and share why you love fall. Think of things like pumpkin spice coffee, football games, crunchy leaves or sweater weather. To make these posts interactive just invite followers to share their favorite things about fall. Don’t forget to mix in a few items from your shop or online store.

#5 FALL TRENDS IN BEAUTY

With the changing of the seasons also comes the changing of the color palettes in beauty. Fall colored palettes are huge in the beauty world! Try sharing tips and how-to videos or pictures of how to get the perfect “Fall makeup look.” Also, don’t forget about nails and hair colors. These colors change with the seasons as well.

FALL SOCIAL MEDIA POST IDEAS

#6 DISCOUNT CODES AND SALES

Fall is a great time to offer a sale or discount. Don’t wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Get people excited about the holiday shopping season now. After all, we know that big box smiley face store starts putting out Christmas before Halloween even is removed from the shelves. Plus, just as many people do their holiday shopping early as they do late.

#7 SHARE SEASONAL ACTIVITIES

Share with your following fun things to do during fall…we all need a bit of inspiration now and then. These could be pumpkin painting ideas, local apple picking spots, activities for them to do with children, fall hiking spots, DIY fall decorating, or craft ideas. My favorite idea for Halloween is to post weekly “movie night” posts where you share what your favorite Halloween-themed movies are once a week. Also, make sure you ask followers to comment their favorite ideas on your post to get your following involved.

#8 FALL ESSENTIALS

Create a fall essentials post where you share any must-have items for fall. These posts could be anything but should hopefully fall into your product category. For example, if you are in skincare, think of items to prepare your skin for winter. If you are in jewelry maybe it’s must-have jewelry for fall, or if you are in weight loss how to eat healthy through the holidays. I know myself I gain a few pounds after Thanksgiving. lol

#9 QUESTIONS AND POLLS

These posts are a great way to get your following to interact with you.

Here are a few examples:

Ask your followers to fill in the blank: “My favorite thing about fall is __.”

What is your favorite fall coffee drink (they are Pumpkin Spice, Apple Spice,

Caramel, Nutmeg, Maple, and so on)?

Create a poll asking users if they love or hate Pumpkin Spice.

#10 CONTEST

A contest can be a great way to build your following. Simply hold a social media contest around literally anything and have your followers share pictures to get entered. Make sure you also have them tag your page or Instagram in their post. Here are a few examples of fall contests you could sponsor: Pumpkin carving contest, best fall scenery picture, most creative use of pumpkin in a drink or a pumpkin decorating contest. As for prizes, you could keep them fall-themed as well and offer one of your fall products, pumpkins carving kits, gift cards to a coffee shop, tickets to a local fall event, or a fall-themed gift basket (apple cider mix, gloves, mugs, warm socks, scarf, pumpkin spice candle)
